Humble beginnings

Team OG arose from the ashes of an obscure team known as (Monkey) Business. The team's founders, Tal Aizik (Fly) and Johan Sundstein (N0tail) met while playing Heroes of Newerth. They eventually joined a Dota 2 team, Fnatic. Having switched teams without success for long, they decided to change strategy. In August 2015, they formed a new team by the name (monkey) Business, thinking they would use it as the vehicle to success in the eSports world.

Two months later, that team was disbanded for lack of results. Little did Tal and Johan know this was the beginning of their legendary Team OG. The duo believed that if the team stayed together long enough, nothing would be too hard for them to win. This was the principle on which the group was founded. And yes, this strategy may work on paper, but it is nearly impossible in practice—for most people, that is. However, this was not so for these legendary eSports stars.

Now, if you’re into esports predictions or checking odds bets, you can trace OG’s real betting-market value back to these scrappy roots.

The rise of the giant

This took off during the 2015/2016 season. Team OG achieved a feat other teams could only dream of in their first season. They topped DreamLeague Season 4 and lifted the Frankfurt Major 2015 trophy. After a brief pause, they stormed back to secure DreamLeague Season 5, the Manila Major 2016 and ESL One Frankfurt 2016.

Consequently, OG qualified for The International 2016, where many punters had them as favourites. They didn’t clinch the Aegis and were eliminated after two losses—but that setback only fuelled their hunger. The squad reshuffled, bringing in Anathan “ana” Pham, Jesse “Jerax” Vainikka and Gustav “s4” Magnusson.

Further restructuring (2020 to Present)

In 2020, ana took a hiatus, JerAx retired, and Ceb shifted focus to coaching. Saksa Sazdov, MidOne Nai Zheng and Sumail Hassan stepped in. Sumail bowed out in July 2020—Ceb returned to fill his spot. MidOne left in March 2021, ana came back briefly, then called it quits in June. OG re-signed Sumail, qualified for The International 2021, but fell 2-0 to Team Spirit in the lower bracket. By November 2021, Sumail and Saksa had moved on, Ceb retired, and Popson and N0tail stepped back from the active roster.

Later that month, OG unveiled a fresh lineup:

  • Mikhail “Misha” Agatov
  • Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev
  • Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
  • Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf
  • Tommy “Taiga” Le

Team OG's strongest games

OG has made waves across multiple titles, but these three stand out in the esports gaming scene:

Dota 2

From day one, OG dominated Valve majors—ever heard of anyone winning four majors back to back? They’re also the only squad to lift The International twice. Those epic runs fuel Dota 2 predictions and set some of the juiciest betting markets out there.

CS: GO

OG’s CS:GO division kicked off in December 2019 with Mantuu, NBK-, Valde and Aleksib. The current roster features FlameZ, Niko, Mantuu, Aleksib and Valde. While they haven’t matched their Dota 2 heights yet, CS:GO fans follow every match for those odds on bets that could turn a small stake into a sweet payout.

Valorant

Making their Valorant debut in February 2021 with uNKOE, TviQ, OniBy, aKm and Elllement, OG is still building momentum. If you’re scouting best bookmaker in the world for Valorant wagers, keep an eye on their matches—betting with odds here can be pure gold if they click.

Johan 'N0tail' Sundstein

N0tail is legendary for his shot-calling and micro-management. As a founding member, he’s led OG to Majors and Aegis glory. If you’re scoping some odds on bets, pinpointing his leadership can sharpen your betting strategy.

Syed Sumail 'SumaiL' Hassan

SumaiL exploded onto the scene in 2015, helping Evil Geniuses win TI 2015 and becoming the first esports player to earn $1 million at just 16. His mid-lane prowess still influences Dota 2 predictions today.

Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen

Joining OG in 2018 with no prior senior team links, Topson stunned everyone by winning back-to-back Internationals (TI8 and TI9). He picks tricky heroes and makes them look easy—great intel if you’re hunting favourable odds.

Other crowd-favourites include Yeik 'MidOne' Nai Zheng and Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov.
