Each terminal has a button that you can interact with to open the door and release the researchers. Keep in mind that the researchers are vulnerable and can easily die if there are too many enemies around them. Even a single bullet can accidentally kill a researcher. Exercise precision and use the Breaker to eliminate any enemies that pose a threat to the researchers. Once the escorted researchers are safe, clear the area again to ensure their safety. Repeat this method until all 20 researchers have been safely extracted.
